Texas GOP Outperformed Despite Democrat Influx of Cash

From the Rio Grande Valley to the Panhandle, Texans turned out in record numbers — nearly 6 million — to support President Trump and Republicans across the state. National Democrats poured tens of millions from out of state and could not move the needle an inch.

Additionally, in the Rio Grande Valley, Republicans experienced significant electoral success with Zapata County swinging 38 points to support President Trump, while Cameron County, Starr County, Willacy County, Webb County, and Hidalgo County all went Republican over 40 percent, some approaching 50 percent.

We were pleased to see our successes in congressional races such as Beth Van Duyne and Chip Roy. We are especially proud of holding our Texas State House, highlighted by our candidates in North Texas. Tarrant County — whose ground game enabled us to return it to red again — was key.

This election cycle proved that Texas is a not a battleground state. However, if Democrats want to keep wasting their money here, it’s their money. We are now preparing for our 87th legislative session and ramping up for future elections, as we do not intend to lose our momentum or our electoral gains.

A special hat tip to our grassroots activists, volunteers, and all those who enabled this incredible electoral success.

Chairman West’s Statement on Holding Texas

Below is Chairman West’s statement on holding Texas:

“The quality of our candidates far surpasses that of the collective lemmings of the Democrat Party. And they are out working their leftist opponents on the ground. We are putting more emphasis on our State House races by working with GOP State House leadership, fundraising support, and personal attention from at events in North Texas and other prioritized areas by myself.

Texans don’t want a State House that supports defunding the police, undermining our second amendment right, instituting a state income tax, destroying our oil and gas industry, and politically reshaping the Lone Star State.

Our Texas GOP State House incumbents and challengers support the rule of law, law and order. The Obama-Holder-Bloomberg backed progressive socialist leftist candidates support the rule of the mob, chaos and violence on our streets. Texans will not allow a leftist ideological agenda in its State House that has been exemplified in the utter disaster that is witnessed in our State Capitol of Austin. The strength of our principles, values, and message far surpasses the millions of dollars from California and other failed states to turn Texas into another leftist disaster.

The Texas Democrat Party needs victims. Republicans running for the Texas State House believe in policies enabling Texans to be economically empowered, to be victors.

Recent news out of Harris County, illegal ballot harvesting, evidences the method, means, by which Democrats are seeking power and control in Texas. Republicans will retain the Texas State House and win back seats lost in 2018 because we believe in governing. The Texas State House stays Red, and will be constitutionally conservative.”

Only by fighting against Democrats’ attempt to undermine election integrity and to win the war of policy ideas will Texas stay Red.

Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. and the Republican National Committee (RNC) today announced the members of the Texas Trump Victory effort, which will win the great state of Texas once again for President Trump and Republicans up and down the ballot. The Trump campaign team includes a Trump campaign honorary state chair. The RNC's Texas team includes a regional political director and state director.

"Our Texas Trump Victory leadership team will help to replicate the President's commanding victory in Texas in 2016, delivering a 2020 win for both the President and GOP candidates up and down the ballot," said Brad Parscale, Campaign Manager of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. and Ronna McDaniel, Chairwoman of the RNC, in a joint statement. "The people of Texas spoke loudly when they delivered President Trump a commanding mandate to lead in 2016. After delivering historic economic successes for the men and women of Texas, our Texas leadership team will pave the way for another strong victory for President Trump in 2020."

Since President Trump took office, he has added 781,600 jobs to Texas's economy, lowering the state's unemployment rate from 4.8% to 3.4% after the state hit an unemployment peak of 8.3% under President Obama. While President Obama lost 55,400 manufacturing jobs, President Trump has added 69,100 - a truly remarkable turnaround for the manufacturing community. President Trump has added money back into the paychecks of Texas voters, with the average Texas taxpayer receiving a tax cut of $1,324. President Trump has lifted the prospect of voters across Texas, overseeing a 504,213 decline of Texans on food stamps. Finally, as President Trump lowers prescription drug costs and healthcare premiums, Democrat plans would cause 14,798,600 to lose their current insurance plans - an unacceptable prospect.

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick

Stephanie Alexander

Taylor Mattox

In addition to the soaring Trump economy, the Trump Victory Texas team will share the President's clear record of accomplishments:
  • Increasing paychecks by thousands of dollars through tax cuts and wage growth.
  • Creating more than 6 million jobs nationally.
  • Expanding healthcare choice, providing millions of Americans with access to more affordable
  • short-term, limited duration plans.
  • Controlling healthcare costs, as the average exchange premium will go down this year after skyrocketing in cost year-after-year because of Obamacare.
  • Reducing prescription drug costs with prices dropping for the first time in half a century resulting in consumers saving $26 billion.
  • Putting America first in our trade deals and protecting American jobs while also opening new markets and expanding existing ones.
  • Protecting our border and enforcing immigration laws in contrast to Democrats who call for open borders.
