Today, 50 days until election day,
the Pennsylvania Democratic Party
announced its statewide “Broken
Promises Tour,” a series of virtual
events designed to highlight the
local impact of President Trump’s
failed economic policies.
Throughout the tour, notable Democrats and elected officials will join with workers, union members and small business owners in a variety of events to discuss how the Trump administration’s broken promises and economic policy — both before and during the COVID-19 pandemic — has left Pennsylvania working families behind.
“For four years, Trump has put the interests of his campaign donors and large corporations before the needs of working families. This tour will help shine a light on the impact of that failed record right here in Pennsylvania,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chair Nancy Patton Mills. “From his attacks on unions and corporate tax scam, to his botched coronavirus response which has crushed small businesses, Trump has demonstrated he has no interest in looking out for working Pennsylvanians. As we enter the final 50 days of this campaign, we will keep working day and night to elect Joe Biden — the only candidate in the race with a plan to build our economy back better than before.”
The tour begins as the economic situation in Pennsylvania and around the country has grown out of hand. Unemployment in the Commonwealth remains well over 13% and small businesses continue to struggle to make ends meet thanks to the administration’s failed COVID-19 response. While the Trump administration has yet to provide any fix beyond divisive rhetoric and broken promises, Vice President Joe Biden has put forth a detailed plan on how to rebuild our economy and create millions of good paying jobs.
The first event is scheduled to take place this Wednesday, September 16, 2020 via Zoom and will feature speakers from Blair and surrounding counties.
