Summary: Over the six months, Biden and allies outspent Trump and allies in Nevada by more than 3 to 1, $27.3 million to $8.1 million The difference in ad spending by outside groups was particularly striking; Biden allies, mainly Future Forward ($9.4 million), outspent Trump allies by more than 11 to 1.  More than half of ad spending came in the last month of the campaign.  To put total spending in context, dividing the $35.4 million total ad spending by six electoral votes gives a figure of $5.90 million per electoral vote; Biden and allies spent $4.55 million and Trump and allies $1.35 million per electoral vote.  Dividing by 1,405,376 votes tallied in the presidential race in Nevada gives a figure of $25.18 per vote; Biden and allies spent $38.81 per Biden vote and Trump and allies spent $12.07 per Trump vote. 

These data cover spending on advertising on electronic media (broadcast, cable, radio, digital and satellite) but do not include other types of paid media such as billboards, print advertising and persuasion mail.
Data on this page do not show "independent" ads which account for a tiny amount of spending (less than 0.1%).  "Independent" ads includes ads from third party presidential candidates and other small mostly digital buys from various groups.
Also note that groups such as The Lincoln Project and Republican Voters Against Trump, although organized by Republicans and thus nominally Republican, are included under De
mocrat (Biden/Allies) spending since
their purpose was to attack Trump.

Of $35.4 million presidential ad spending in Nevada, $23.5 million (66.4%) was on broadcast, $4.6 million (13.0%) on cable, $5.0 million (14.1%) on digital, $1.3 million (3.7%) on radio and $1.1 million (3.1%) on satellite.  As noted above, these data do not include other types of paid media such as billboards, print advertising and persuasion mail.
