TRUMP VICTORY NM AND RPNM REACH MILESTONE SURPASSING 3 MILLION CONTACTS IN HISTORIC ELECTION EFFORT

ALBUQUERQUE, OCTOBER 29 - NM Trump Victory and the Republican Party of New Mexico continue to shatter records in their statewide effort to re-elect President Trump and turn New Mexico red.

During the week of October 22-28 more than 150 volunteers across New Mexico knocked on more than 100,000 doors, setting a new record for one week. This unprecedented statewide ground game has increased steadily over the past months.

These latest door knocking numbers mean that NM Trump Victory and RPNM have now made more than 3 million contacts in election 2020. For the cycle to date, more than 1,300 volunteers have knocked on more than 900,000 doors and placed more than 2.1 million phone calls inside New Mexico.

This election season NM Trump Victory and RPNM have established the biggest GOP infrastructure, recruited the most manpower and gotten the most volunteers in New Mexico election history.

"These impressive numbers demonstrate not only the commitment and excitement of the Trump Campaign to turn New Mexico red, but the drive and fortitude of our staff and volunteers," said Steve Pearce, Chairman of the Republican Party of New Mexico. "We feel the tide turning here, and more and more New Mexicans will be casting their vote for President Trump and Republicans down ballot to turn the state red. New Mexicans know the President stands for law and order, has created a strong economy and will protect our freedoms and family values."

Gov. Lujan Grisham Backtracks on Door-To-Door Campaigning Comments

Governor’s Office Quickly Corrects Remarks That Were Blatantly Partisan

ALBUQUERQUE, AUGUST 4 — The Governor’s Office has retracted remarks the governor made at her press conference last week in which she claimed people cannot campaign door-to-door. Her comments came as an obvious attempt to halt Republicans’ aggressive and widespread ground game throughout New Mexico.

The Governor’s Office reversed course and said that as long as people wear masks and social distance—they may campaign. Republican candidates continue to campaign wearing masks while practicing social distancing.

The following is a statement from Republican Party of New Mexico Steve Pearce regarding the about-face:

“The governor’s politically-charged comments outlawing campaigning as part of her Public Health Order were a deliberate attempt to curb our tremendous outreach and contacts in the state. She’s running scared, trying to stop our progress. Not only was this blatantly partisan and illegal, but her comments also demonstrate she’s incompetent as a leader. How can you say one thing and then reverse yourself a short time later? She’s simply not a good leader. She knew her Public Health Order could not extend to outlaw campaigning.”

Gov. Lujan Grisham’s Crackdown on Political Activities Shows Democrats Are Scared

ALBUQUERQUE, JULY 31 — Gov. Lujan Grisham’s latest push to stop political events and door-knocking is proof that she and the Democrats are shaking in their boots. They’re running scared. The governor says we’re not going to use COVID-19 to prevent a peaceful protest or even destructive rioting in Downtown Albuquerque, but will not allow Republicans to gather for political activities.

So now the governor says candidates can’t campaign, but protests and riots are allowed to happen? This makes no sense and violates the right to pursue the political process.

It’s no coincidence that as Republican momentum is getting stronger and more New Mexicans support the Party’s positions and mission, the governor tries to suppress Republican candidates from getting their message out.

While the governor openly praised the Democratic Party and its candidates for following her Public Health Order, Republican candidates are also adhering to her Order. They are campaigning with masks, walking with groups less than five, and practicing social distancing at the door. The governor shamed Republicans publicly, but they are following her decree. Shame on you, Governor, for playing political games with your Public Health Order. Your comments could potentially violate our rights and basic freedoms.

Gov. Lujan Grisham again acts like a dictator. A masked candidate is not allowed to speak to a voter, but shoppers at big-box stores continue to rub elbows in the crowded aisles. It’s impossible to unravel the governor’s twisted logic!

The governor should be scared—the Republican Party of New Mexico has been working diligently to create the largest ground game New Mexico has ever seen. Republicans have contacted more than a million voters with phone banking and door-knocking. The Democrats reportedly have contacted just 20,000. Republicans are outworking Democrats 50 to 1.

The governor’s latest amended Order comes as New Mexico has a COVID-19 mortality rate of 3.1%. South Dakota, which never shut down, has a 1.4% mortality rate.

“The governor’s lack of leadership and her inability to address our crisis is shameful,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce. “Instead of dealing with a collapsing economy and lost livelihoods, Gov. Lujan Grisham again takes an authoritarian approach with this political tactic. At a time when people are suffering and losing their life’s savings, her actions are dishonorable. Remember, the governor also took an oath to protect all New Mexicans, not just Democrats. Republicans are on the move and she knows it. She can’t come to grips with the fact that the apathetic Democrats are in danger of losing legislative and Congressional seats.”

RPNM Chairman’s Statement on Governor’s Amended Public Health Order

The following is a statement from Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce after today’s Public Health Order update from Gov. Lujan Grisham:

“Today the governor blatantly made the Public Health Order political. During her press conference, the governor denounced candidates for going door to door, taking away our freedom of speech and right to seek votes. The Democrats are running scared. Now the governor wants to benefit their inactive candidates by outlawing campaigning! Yet she allows protests in the streets. Instead of addressing the real needs of New Mexicans, Gov. Lujan Grisham also blamed the Trump Administration and attacked Washington politicians for having no plan. She provides no answers herself, no leadership for New Mexicans.”

“She also took aim at Republicans over unemployment. The governor offers no direction, no hope, and has now cemented even harder the state’s economic collapse by extending her Public Health Order. For months her emergency orders and unjust, inequitable decisions have violated our rights, attacked our freedoms, and crushed our local economies. Today the governor reminded us that we’re “a poor state.” Yet her school reopening plan ignores families without computers and internet creating a further class divide. This governor doesn’t get it—she’s the CEO of New Mexico.”

NM Presidential Poll Shows Political Bias

The Republican Party of New Mexico is informing the public that a newly released presidential poll in New Mexico showing Joe Biden leading President Trump is a Democrat-operated poll by North Carolina professors. The survey uses automated phone calls and texting which are considered less reliable. This was an impersonal interviewing technique which is less scientific and doesn’t screen for likely voters.

In the polling trade, this type of survey is considered a “quick and dirty” poll which is meant to feed the media.

This robocall poll, conducted by Public Policy Polling for NM Political Report, erroneously shows Biden ahead of Trump 53%-39% with 8% unsure.

Similarly, the poll shows Ben Ray Lujan ahead of Mark Ronchetti by 14 points in the U.S. Senate Race, also using these less reliable robocalls and text messages.

When you see these polls from the left, be aware of the flaws and inaccuracies.

Polls like this one are not considered a quality measurement of New Mexico voters, and most political leaders consider surveys like these problematic because they do not use live interviews.

While President Trump has been challenged these past months with COVID-19 and national protests, he continues to inspire and deliver with his leadership, and we are seeing strong signs of an economic return.

The Trump Victory team and the Republican Party of New Mexico are confident President Trump will win New Mexico, as the White House continues to commit resources and manpower to help Mr. Trump collect our electoral votes this fall.

Republican momentum is strong, our workers driven and, with your help, we will turn New Mexico red!

A Call For Unity From Chairman Steve Pearce

Now that the Primary is over, many candidates may well feel the sting and wounds of political battle and the bruises of a heated and hard-fought campaign.

But wounds heal, and it’s time to look ahead–together.

Election 2020 is critical to our state’s future, and unity is critical. It’s imperative candidates dust themselves off and commit themselves to the values and principles that represent New Mexico’s Republican Party and to the traditional values of most New Mexicans. Candidates must put aside their differences, rally behind every nominee and wholeheartedly support the winner in a unified quest for victory in November.

Together, we will not only boost our nominees to victory but also secure a great future for New Mexico.

Some Primary races were not without heated moments and choice words, but now it is time to use our collective energy to inspire our base and earn the votes of Independents and Conservative Democrats.

We can do this with a bold vision–together.

“A House divided against itself cannot stand,” remarked Abraham Lincoln on his day of reckoning. This election is OUR day of reckoning. It’s time to pull together during this critical time in New Mexico history to put the state on a better track, turn our Washington delegation red and make our courts work for people, not criminals.

What we can’t do is stand idle.

In 2018 more than 149,000 Republican voters stayed home. Had those voters cast ballots, our Roundhouse and Congressional delegation would look much different today. We have to support our nominees, promote their agendas and motivate people to flock to the polls this fall.

A vote means something, a vote is choice, a vote brings change, a vote is power.

Let’s turn New Mexico red, re-elect President Trump, and steer New Mexico to a better future–together.

Sincerely,

Steve Pearce
Chairman

Republican Party Gears Up For November Victories

The Republican Party of New Mexico congratulates all its Primary winners and now sets its sights to complete its mission: to re-elect President Trump, win the Roundhouse, take the U.S. Senate and Congressional seats and claim the New Mexico Supreme Court. RPNM and its nominees will pull together and charge into the fall with a strong, diverse slate of candidates who will change the course of New Mexico political history. New Mexico will soon become red.

With a strong Republican voter turnout, the Party is energized and ready to put a stop to the progressive agenda in the Roundhouse and in New Mexico’s Congressional delegation.

In the U.S. Senate Race, Mark Ronchetti defeated Elisa Martinez and Gavin Clarkson.

In the 1st Congressional District race, Michelle Garcia Holmes took the nomination, beating Jared Vander Dussen and Brett Kokinadis.

In the 2nd Congressional District race, Yvette Herrell won the nomination, defeating Claire Chase and Chris Mathys.

The 3rd Congressional District race is too close to call, and votes should be counted later today. RPNM wants to congratulate the three candidates for running a strong race.

In the General Election this fall, RPNM will have legislative candidates in a record 101 races—41 in the Senate and 60 in the House. That demonstrates the excitement and enthusiasm surrounding the Party, and the importance to make gains in the legislature. It’s time for change. It’s time for progress. It’s time for a new New Mexico.

“These nominees will reclaim the spirit of New Mexico. Republicans have a strong message and a bold vision for our state,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce. “Our slate of nominees–from the top of the ticket to the bottom–is diverse, driven and on a mission to win this November. They believe in traditional New Mexico values, fiscal responsibility, jobs and sensible government. The day of Democrat dominance in New Mexico will soon be over.”

President Trump won the New Mexico Primary, and Republicans are also ready to deliver the state’s 5 electoral votes to him this fall.
