Feb. 14-16, 2019 - Members attend various caucus and council meetings.  There are six constituency caucuses (AAPI, Black, Hispanic, Native American, LGBT and Women's) and nine councils (Disability, Ethnic, Labor, Rural, Seniors, Small Business, Vets & Military Families, Youth and a newly formed Poverty Council).  In addition, four regional caucuses met on Saturday morning.  Below are scenes from the first ever meeting of the Poverty Council.
Susie Shannon, a DNC member from California and anti-poverty activist, was the driving force behind creation of the Poverty Council.
U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee (CA) chairs the Out of Poverty Caucus.
Joel Segal, currently of the North Carolina Climate Solutions Coalition, is a co-founder of Progressive Democrats of America and was a senior advisor to former U.S. Rep. John Conyers (MI).
Phyllis Davis spoke movingly about how important health care services have been for her.

U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (CA) spoke about some of her goals as chair of the House Financial Services Committee.
Rohini Kosoglu, chief of staff of U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris (CA), was the only representative of a presidential candidate who made an appearance.
