DSCC Announces Senior Staff For 2020 Cycle

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee today announced senior staff for the 2020 election cycle.

“Our team of battle tested, campaign experts has the skills and experience to help Democrats take back the Senate,” said DSCC Chair Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. “They know what it takes to win tough races, reflect the great diversity of our party and will help Democrats run successful campaigns across the country.”

The DSCC previously announced Scott Fairchild will serve as Executive Director.

Deputy Executive Director Devan Barber
Last cycle Devan served as the DSCC’s Political Director and oversaw the committee’s work to reelect 22 incumbents – six in states Trump carried – and flip three Republican held seats in Alabama, Arizona and Nevada. She previously worked as the Political Director for End Citizens United, and as Research Director for the DSCC in 2016 and on Senator Kay Hagan’s 2014 campaign. She also worked on Hagan’s 2008 campaign and for former President Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign.

Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Brynn Palmen
Brynn most recently served as a Senior Advisor in the Office of Senator Cortez Masto and was the Deputy Campaign Manager for Cortez Masto’s successful Senate campaign. She was the Field Director for the Nevada Democratic Party in 2016, and worked on the re-election campaigns for Mayor Rahm Emanuel in 2015 and Senator Dick Durbin in 2014.

Senior Advisor Justin Barasky
Justin served as the Campaign Manager for Senator Sherrod Brown, who won his re-election by 7 points in a state Trump carried by 9 points just two years prior. Justin worked as the Communications Director at Priorities USA and the DSCC in 2016 and as the DSCC’s National Press Secretary in 2014. He also served as Communications Director for Senator Brown’s successful re-election campaign in 2012 and as Press Secretary and Rapid Response Director for Senator Harry Reid’s successful 2010 re-election campaign.

Senior Advisor Christie Roberts
Christie served as the Campaign Manager for Senator Jon Tester, who earned 50 percent of the statewide vote for the first time just two years after Trump won the state by 20 points. In 2016, Christie was the DSCC Political Director and served as the DSCC Research Director in 2014. She was the Senator Tester’s Research Director in 2012, a DSCC Senior Research Associate in 2010 and worked in Maine during the 2008 election cycle.

Political Director Gabrielle Quintana Greenfield
Gabrielle joins the DSCC after helping to win back the House Majority with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s independent expenditure program and working in 2017 on the successful Virginia gubernatorial. She has managed multi-million dollar budgets and large teams, running competitive races at the national, statewide, congressional, and local levels.

Finance Director Eben DuRoss
Eben returns to the DSCC for his second cycle as Finance Director. Previously he’s worked as the Finance Director for Senator Cortez Masto’s successful campaign in 2016, a political fundraising officer for Planned Parenthood Federation of America and as the DSCC’s Northeast Finance Director during the 2012 and 2014 cycles.

Chief Digital Officer Kati Card
Prior to joining the DSCC, Kati served as Senator Cortez Masto’s Digital Director, and held the same title on Cortez Masto’s Senate campaign. Kati worked for the Senate’s Democratic Policy and Communications Center in press and research positions from 2009 through 2014.

Digital Director Marina Orcutt
Marina most recently served as Senator Patty Murray’s digital director, and took a short leave in 2018 to serve as digital content director on the Florida gubernatorial. Marina has managed digital content and helped train digital talent at the New Organizing Institute. Originally from Great Falls, Montana, Marina’s started her Senate campaign work as a field organizer for Senator Tester’s re-election in 2012.

Communications Director Lauren Passalacqua
Lauren returns to the DSCC for her second cycle as Communications Director. In 2016 she served as the DSCC’s National Press Secretary. Prior to that, Lauren was the Communications Director for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, worked on Senate campaigns in Colorado and Montana, and on Andrew Cuomo’s gubernatorial election in 2010. She served on the press staff in the New York Governor, New York Attorney General and New York City Mayor’s offices.

Research Director Megan Hughes
During the 2018 cycle Megan served as the Research Director for Senator Brown’s successful re-election campaign. Previously she worked as the Research Director for Evan Bayh, Deputy Research Director for Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s 2014 re-election and at the DSCC as a Senior Research Associate and Research Analyst.

Policy Director Hazeen Ashby
Hazeen was most recently Senior Counsel for the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. Prior to arriving on the Hill she was the Director for Technology & Telecom Policy at the National Urban League, Senior Policy Counsel for the Culture Program at Third Way and the Associate Director of Student Chapters at the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy.

Chief Information Security Officer Jude Meche
A CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), Jude has more than 20 years of experience providing IT and security services for Democratic organizations and campaigns. He served as senior staff for both John Kerry and Dick Gephardt’s Presidential Campaigns. He is also a contributor in the creation of the Cybersecurity Campaign Playbook through Defending Digital Democracy and Harvard’s Center for Science and International Affairs.

Comptroller and Treasurer Allison Wright
Allison has served as Treasurer to numerous political action committees and managed audits by government agencies. She’s also worked on several presidential campaigns including Clinton-Gore, Dean for America and Hillary Clinton for President, and has served as the Constituency Services Director at the Democratic National Committee.
