The 60-minute "Conversation with the Candidate" broadcasts were recorded live-to-tape before an in-studio audience at WMUR-TV studios in Manchester, NH.  Entrepreneur Andrew Yang taped the first of the series on Feb. 26, 2019, and through Sept. 2019, 25 candidates participated.  Each program started with a one-minute video profiling the candidate, then WMUR-TV political director Adam Sexton posed questions for the first part, and after a break the second part was devoted to questions from the audience as well as social media.  WMUR-TV worked in partnership with NHIOP, which assisted on audience selection.
