Make NPR Your Trusted 2020 Election News Source

Tuesday, October 27th; Washington D.C. – Looking for trusted, reliable and up-to-date results on election night? Tune in, watch, or log-on to NPR.

Special election coverage will be available to listeners and viewers on Member station broadcasts, online at NPR.org, the NPR One App, at Facebook.com/nprpolitics, and on the NPR Politics Podcast. Breaking news alerts and election results are also available through the NPR One App and by email subscription.

Find your local station at npr.org/stations (Special coverage for election returns from NPR will be live from 7pm-2am ET; some stations will carry it).

Digital News Coverage

NPR's interactive election site will be live on NPR.org. The site will feature a special breaking news blog with analysis from NPR's team of expert reporters. It will also include a live-updating election results map, with tools that allow users to view returns by state and key counties, as well as historical results from previous elections. Additional site graphics will update with Senate, House and gubernatorial results. There will also be videos featuring analysis from NPR reporters as well as live-streaming video of any key speeches or events that take place on election night.

Visit your participating NPR Member station website for additional local news, including ballot measures and local elections.

Listeners can also access live election coverage from the NPR One App, or they can listen to the mix of national and local stories for which NPR One is known. NPR One curators will be updating the collection of stories with election news all through the night.

Before election day, the NPR Politics Podcast will publish a special election preview episode on Sunday, November 1st, in addition to its regular weekday podcasts. After the polls close, the podcast will publish a new episode late on Tuesday night to recap the latest results and analysis.

After November 3rd, NPR will be offering hour-long election specials hosted by Audie Cornish and Noel King on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 9pm-10pm – providing listeners with the latest election results and their impact.

Broadcast Coverage and Election Night Reporters:

NPR hosts Ailsa Chang, Lulu Garcia-Navarro, Michel Martin, Sarah McCammon, , and Ari Shapiro will co-host the Special Coverage from NPR headquarters in Washington, DC, from 7:00 pm ET/5:00pm PT until at least 2:00am ET/11:00 PT. The program will feature up-to-the-minute results, speeches, newsmaker interviews, reports from candidate sites, and analysis from NPR's Politics team.

Throughout the night, the NPR Politics team will provide live updates on election returns and analysis of the results. Political Correspondents Scott Detrow and Asma Khalid will be reporting on the Biden campaign from Delaware. White House Correspondents Tamara Keith, Franco Ordonez, and Ayesha Rascoe will be covering President Trump's campaign. Updates and analysis of election returns will be provided by Ron Elving, Senior Editor and Correspondent; Domenico Montanaro, Senior Political Editor and Correspondent; Juana Summers, Political Reporter covering demographics and culture; Danielle Kurtzleben, Political Reporter; and Mara Liasson, National Political Correspondent.

NPR's Capitol Hill team, including Susan Davis, Congressional Correspondent; Kelsey Snell, Congressional Correspondent; and Claudia Grisales, Congressional Reporter will be following the closely watched House & Senate races and the balance of power in Congress. Miles Parks, Voting Reporter; Pam Fessler, National Correspondent; Phil Ewing, Election Security Editor and a host of others will be keeping an eye on how voting is going around the country, as well as potential election security issues. Reporters in the field will include National Political Correspondent Don Gonyea, who will be in Detroit; National Correspondent David Schaper in Milwaukee and National Correspondent Jeff Brady in Philadelphia. NPR Member stations around the country will provide local, on-the-ground reports about voting and races in their states.
