ANDREW
YANG

Dear friend,
First, I want to say thank you for being on my team. When I first announced that I was running for President as a Democrat, I had a team of about five people. Now, the energy and enthusiasm I see building around our movement is bigger than I could have imagined-and it's thanks to supporters like you.

Running for President is not something I take lightly. l'm not running for President because I ever fantasized about being President. l'm running for President beca use a crisis is coming. l'm a parent and a patriot, and I can see the country we wili leave to our children. lt is not something I am willing to accept.

The issues facing so many Americans cannot be boiled down to a slogan, and the solutions should not be boiled down to a sound bite or talking point. We have only this moment to get it right.

This is why I am running for President.

I am the son of two immigrants. l am the father of two amazing boys, one of whom has autism. l am the husband to an amazing woman who challenges and inspires me every day. I am also a businessman and tech entrepreneur who has seen up clase and personal the changing American economy.

American job creation has always been my passion. Seven years ago, I started Venture for America
to train hundreds of young entrepreneurs to build businesses in communities most hurt by the recession-communities such as Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore.

Together, we created thousands of jobs—but I carne to realize that for all the new jobs we were creating, automation was eliminating millions. We just couldn't keep up.

We've already lost over four million manufacturing jobs. Economists project up to a third of American workers wili lose their jobs to automation in the next twelve years. l'm not a career politician; l've never run for office. l'm an entrepreneur who understands the economy. Once I understood the magnitude of this problem, and that even our most forward-thinking politicians were unable to stem the tide, I had no choice but to act.

In the face of these changes, we need to build a new kind of economy—one that puts people first. We've forgotten the power that we hold. lnstead, we've let politicians and large corporations decide our fate.
The challenges of this era are massive—but if we rise to the challenge, we can usher in a new era of
greater equality, freedom, and abundance for ali Americans.

I thank you for being a part of my team—whatever brought you here. l know that we can build a better world. No one is going to do it for us; we have to do it ourselves. With you by my side, I know it's possible.
