Under the leadership of my administration and the backing of the Republican Senate, our country has seen tremendous victories these past three years. Since my inauguration, we have created over 20 thousand jobs in Iowa alone and over 7 million nationwide. During my presidency, 60,980 Iowans have come off food stamps, unemployment in the state has reached a record low of 2.4%, and Republican tax cuts have saved middle-class Iowans an average of $1,400. I have negotiated with China to end the trade cheating that has stolen from Iowa farmers for years. Our trade agreement with the European Union and Japan has opened Iowa's farms to international markets, making us competitive on the world stage again. Last week, I signed USMCA, this historic deal will create new opportunities with Iowa's most important trade partners, Canada and Mexico.

Tonight, we take an important first step in showing Democrats we are a united Party. We will not allow the Democrats to undermine the votes of the American people. We will not let them endanger Americans with their open border policies or burden the middle class with higher taxes and job-killing regulations. While Democrats continue to make empty promises, Republicans are delivering results across America to ensure an overwhelming victory in 2020.
