ERIC SWALWELL IS A SON OF IOWA.

He was born in Sac City to working class parents and the first in his family to go to college; Eric is still paying off student loan debt.

He and his wife, Brittany, like you, are trying to keep the importance of family front and center in their daily lives and to build opportunity for their young children.

Eric has not forgotten where he came from, or his commitment to fight for everyone to have the opportunity to reach for and attain better lives for themselves and their families.


  • Born in Iowa and spent early years in Algona where his father was police chief.
  • Settled in Dublin, California. He was elected to Congress in 2012, beating a 40-year incumbent.
  • Member, House Intelligence Committee and Judiciary Committee, protecting America abroad and at home.
  • Co-Chair, House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, helping set the caucus' policy agenda and overseeing committee assignments.
  • Founder and chairman emeritus, Future Forum, House Democrats' outreach initiative to millennials.
  • Taking the fight to President Trump to uphold the rule of law, fight corruption in his administration and push back on his lies.

Eric at home with his wife Brittany, his son Nelson (age 2), daughter Cricket (six months), and Penny (a very good dog).
