ICYMI: Supermajority Endorses Joe Biden for President

Today, Supermajority endorsed Joe Biden for President of the United States. Supermajority, a women’s activism organization, provides women with the tools, resources, and knowledge they need to increase their level of civic engagement and advocacy and vote in record numbers. Supermajority believes a Biden-Harris ticket will unite our country, bring compassionate leadership and intersectional policies to the White House.

Supermajority issued the following statement:

“We are endorsing the Biden-Harris ticket in this election because they will unite our country, bring compassionate leadership and intersectional policies to the White House, and begin to heal our nation after the disastrous, harmful, and racist presidency of Donald Trump.

“Both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have a record of centering women throughout their careers in public service. They have pledged to expand access to healthcare and childcare, protect our reproductive health rights, and work to end violence against women. With this Democratic ticket, we will have champions for equality in the White House who will address systemic racism and the unique challenges facing women of color — including inequality in our voting, housing, and employment. And they both have pushed the country and the Democratic Party to embrace and fight for the rights of LGBTQ people.

“On day one, the Biden-Harris administration will address the COVID-19 pandemic, after the failures of the Trump presidency. Donald Trump has prioritized bailing out billionaires and corporations over providing economic relief to suffering families. He’s refused to listen to public health experts and he has refused to take this threat seriously, resulting in an economic disaster and health crisis that has killed more than 165,000 people in this country. In direct contrast to Trump, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will listen to public health officials and the medical community and get this pandemic under control.

“Joe Biden has shown strong leadership and judgement in putting Kamala Harris on the ticket. Senator Harris will energize women voters, particularly low propensity women of color voters, who were counting on him to pick a woman of color who would be an equal partner to him. And we’re pleased that Joe Biden has also pledged to put a Black woman on the Supreme Court and make his cabinet represent the country they serve.

“We will continue to expect and demand that the Biden-Harris ticket and their future administration address the issues that matter most to women and advance policies that center women, and women of color in particular.

“The stakes could not be higher this November. Women are the majority of voters in this country and Supermajority is launching the largest possible woman-to-woman voter engagement program — reaching millions of voters — to send Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House.”
