Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Pacific Ballroom, Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA.

8 CANDIDATES: Booker, Buttigieg, Castro, Harris, Klobucher, Sanders, Steyer, Yang.

Background: All major Democratic candidates were invited to address the CDP 2019 Fall Endorsing Convention which ran November 15-17. 

The top eight in the field, according to criteria adopted by the CDP’s Executive Board, were invited participate in the CDP/Univision Presidential Forum "Real America" on November 16.  The CDP criteria gave equal weight to both polling (national and California) and grassroots support (national and California).  Of the eight invited (Biden, Buttigieg, Castro, Harris, O'Rourke, Sanders. Warren amd Yang) only five participated.  O'Rourke dropped out at the beginning of the month and Biden and Warren declined.  Booker, Klobuchar and Steyer were then added to fill out the eight.

Additionally, four candidates who did not make the cut for the forum spoke during the general session of the Convention, also in the Pacific Ballroom between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. on November 16: Williamson, Sestak, Delaney and Patrick.

'Real America’, a presidential forum sponsored by Univision and the Democratic Party

The event will be held in Long Beach, California, and the Democratic presidential candidates will answer questions from Jorge Ramos, Ilia Calderón and León Krauze.

Univision News will hold the 2019 Presidential Forum during the next California Democratic Party (CDP) State Convention, which will be held this Saturday, November 16th at the Long Beach Arena.

Presidential candidates Corey Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Julian Castro, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Bernie Sanders, Tom Steyer and Andrew Yang will participate in the forum.

The moderators will be Univision’s Jorge Ramos and Ilia Calderón as well as León Krauze, anchor of KMEX, the main local Univision station in Los Angeles. They will be responsible for asking candidates about the issues that most the Hispanic community, as well as the concerns of American society in general.

Top 8 Presidential Candidates Selected for November California Democratic Party/Univision Presidential Forum

SACRAMENTO—Univision News President Daniel Coronell and California Democratic Party (CDP) Chair Rusty Hicks today sent invitations to the top eight (8) Democratic Presidential candidates who were selected to participate in their televised 2019 Presidential Forum. The forum, which will take place at the CDP’s upcoming 2019 State Convention, will be held in the Long Beach Arena from 4:00-6:00 pm PST on November 16, 2019.

The top 8 candidates, based upon criteria adopted by the CDP’s Executive Board that gave equal weight to both polling (national and California) and grassroots support (national and California) are (listed alphabetically) Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Julián Castro, Kamala Harris, Beto O’Rourke, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Andrew Yang.

Presidential candidates that did not qualify for the CDP/Univision forum have been invited to participate in the CDP’s state convention general sessions.

The Forum will be moderated by Univision’s Jorge Ramos and Ilia Calderon as well as Leon Krauze, Anchor, KMEX, Univision’s flagship local station.  The Forum will be broadcast to millions of viewers across all of Univision’s broadcast and cable television, audio and digital platforms. The audience in the arena will consist of delegates to the CDP convention, members of the local community, and invited guests.

SACRAMENTO — OCTOBER 11, 2019 – Daniel Coronell, presidente de Univision Noticias, y Rusty Hicks, presidente del Partido Demócrata de California (California Democratic Party o CDP) enviaron hoy invitaciones a los ocho (8) más populares candidatos demócratas a la presidencia, quienes fueron seleccionados para participar en su Foro Presidencial de 2019.
