Marva Johnson Joins the Jacksonville 2020 Host Committee
The
Jacksonville 2020 Host Committee today
announced that Marva Johnson is joining
the team leading the efforts to host the
Republican National Convention. The
Jacksonville 2020 Host Committee is a
non-partisan §501(c)(3) not for profit
economic development organization
committed to supporting the people and
businesses of our city during this $100
million economic opportunity for
Jacksonville.
"The
Jacksonville 2020 Host Committee is
working around the clock to prepare for
the convention and I am thrilled to join
the team," said Johnson, Group Vice
President for State Government Affairs of
Charter Communications’ Southern Region.
"The unprecedented effort taking place in
Jacksonville is a shining example of what
the people and businesses of Northeast
Florida have to offer visitors for events
of this magnitude."
Johnson, who
brings 2012 Tampa Convention experience,
has over 20 years in the communications
industry, including General Counsel for
Supra Telecommunications and Vice
President and Senior Counsel for KMC
Telecommunications. Ms. Johnson has served
as the Chair for the Florida State Board
of Education, currently serves on the
Enterprise Florida Board, and is the
immediate past Chair for the Global Board
of Women in Cable & Telecommunications
(WICT).
Johnson
joins previously announced business and
community leaders from here in
Jacksonville and across the Sunshine
State. Host Committee Members are sharing
their time, talent and experience to
ensure Jacksonville is able to host a
successful convention for our visitors on
this expedited timeframe.

The Jacksonville 2020 Host Committee today
announced three new members to the team leading
the efforts to host the Republican National
Convention in just 61 days: Florida Attorney
General Ashley Moody, Chief Financial Officer
Jimmy Patronis and Jacksonville City Council
Member Leanna Maria Gutierrez Cumber. The
Jacksonville 2020 Host Committee is a
non-partisan §501(c)(3) not for profit economic
development organization committed to supporting
the people and businesses of our city during
this $100 million economic opportunity for
Jacksonville.
"Jacksonville is an incredibly special part
of our State and we are thrilled to share it
with a national and global audience," said
Moody. "

Meet the Jacksonville 2020 Host Committee
The Jacksonville 2020 Host Committee today announced the 32 members leading the efforts to host the Republican National Convention in just 66 days. The group of community and business leaders from here in Jacksonville and across Florida will welcome tens of thousands of visitors August 24 - 27."Community and business leaders from here in Jacksonville and across the Sunshine State are sharing their time, talent and experience to ensure Jacksonville is able to host a successful convention for our visitors on this expedited timeframe," said Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry , Co-chair of the Jacksonville 2020 Host Committee. "We are thrilled to host the Republican National Convention this August and look forward to sharing with the rest of the country the things that make Jacksonville, and our people, so special."
