From a global pandemic that continues to wreak havoc on our communities, to the senseless loss of George Floyd’s death by the hands of police, to our neighborhoods burning in protest, it goes without saying that our country is suffering right now. It is more important than ever for us to stand together, fight back, and ensure we usher in a better future. We will hear from leaders in our home state and across the country working to help America heal and to remind Nevada Democrats why we continue with this critical work.”

NV DEMS CLOSE OUT SUCCESSFUL COUNTY CONVENTIONS
Last week, the Nevada State Democratic Party closed out a successful remote county convention process in which more than 3,500 Nevada Democrats participated. More than a third of participants were diverse and, among age, nearly a third were under the age of 36.In order to reduce the spread of coronavirus, NV Dems moved to host county conventions remotely, allowing delegates to participate online or over the phone. From Clark to Elko counties, thousands of energized Democrats who participated in the First in the West Caucus came together to elect delegates to the state convention and reaffirm their commitment to electing Democrats up and down the ticket in November.
“The Nevada State Democratic Party would be nowhere without the community of dedicated activists who make up our party,” said Nevada State Democratic Party Chair William McCurdy II. “Thank you to our county chairs for your leadership and ensuring participants enjoyed a smooth and organized convention. I was so delighted to see the robust engagement in the conventions and am grateful the momentum from our historic First in the West Caucus continues to carry through the caucus to convention process. Despite the challenges of social distancing and the unpredictable circumstances we’re currently facing, Nevada Democrats didn’t skip a beat. This is the type of energy that will carry us to victory in November.”
County convention results will be made available at nvdems.com on Tuesday, May 12th.
