Presidential Race Undecided, But Biden Edging Closer

(Nov. 6, 2020 11:05 p.m.)  The path for Trump, if there is one, is very narrow.  Today Biden edged ahead in the vote counts in Georgia, where a recount is anticipated (with 99% counted the margin is about 4,000 votes or 49.4% to 49.3%) and Pennsylvania (with 98% counted the margin is over 21,000 votes or 49.6% to 49.3%).  Biden is also ahead in Nevada.  A win in any one of the outstanding states would make Biden the president-elect.

RNC Announces Legal Challenge Teams In Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania

WASHINGTON — Following numerous incidences of voting irregularities, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel announced that the RNC has legal teams already on the ground in four states to fight back against Democrat efforts to disenfranchise voters and ensure that every vote for President Trump and other Republicans is counted fairly and accurately as required by law.

“Democrats and their friends in the media spent four years talking about a Russia hoax on the grounds of election integrity. Now with just 48 hours after polls closed in an actual presidential election, they want to ignore clear irregularities, rush to call states as won, and end the election,” RNC Chairwoman McDaniel said. “We will not stand for that.”

“Every candidate, in every office from president down to the local level, has a legal right to challenge irregularities that occur in the process of canvassing ballots. We intend to ensure that every lawful voter has their vote counted in accordance with the law, that observers are granted the access they are due under state law, and that any irregularities that have occurred – whether by malicious intent or incompetence – are fully investigated to the fullest extent allowed under of the law. We will not give up on this process until every last issue has been resolved.”

The following team leaders have been named in each state:

Arizona
State Director: Brian Seitchik
Legal Director: Matt Raymer
Media Director: Keith Schipper

Georgia
State Director: Brian Barrett
Legal Director: Joy Lee
Media Director: Danielle Alvarez

Michigan
State Director: Kim Jorns
Legal Director: Thor Hearne
Media Director: Michael Joyce

Pennsylvania
State Director: Jon Black
Legal Director: Marc Robertson
Media Director: Rachel Lee

Trump campaign: This election is not over

“This election is not over. The false projection of Joe Biden as the winner is based on results in four states that are far from final. Georgia is headed for a recount, where we are confident we will find ballots improperly harvested, and where President Trump will ultimately prevail. There were many irregularities in Pennsylvania, including having election officials prevent our volunteer legal observers from having meaningful access to vote counting locations. We prevailed in court on our challenge, but were deprived of valuable time and denied the transparency we are entitled to under state law. In Nevada, there appear to be thousands of individuals who improperly cast mail ballots. Finally, the President is on course to win Arizona outright, despite the irresponsible and erroneous ‘calling’ of the state for Biden by Fox News and the Associated Press. Biden is relying on these states for his phony claim on the White House, but once the election is final, President Trump will be re-elected.”

Statement of President Donald J. Trump

“We believe the American people deserve to have full transparency into all vote counting and election certification, and that this is no longer about any single election. This is about the integrity of our entire election process. From the beginning we have said that all legal ballots must be counted and all illegal ballots should not be counted, yet we have met resistance to this basic principle by Democrats at every turn. We will pursue this process through every aspect of the law to guarantee that the American people have confidence in our government. I will never give up fighting for you and our nation.”

Remarks as Prepared for Delivery by Vice President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware

Good evening.

My fellow Americans, we don’t have a final declaration of victory yet, but the numbers tell a clear and convincing story: We are going to win this race.

Just look at what has happened since yesterday.

24 hours ago, we were behind in Georgia.

Now we’re ahead and we’re going to win that state.

24 hours ago, we were behind in Pennsylvania.

Now, we’re ahead and we’re going to win that state too.

We’re winning Arizona. We’re winning Nevada.

In fact, our lead just doubled in Nevada.

We’re on track for over 300 Electoral College votes.

And look at the national numbers: We’re going to win this race with a clear majority of the nation behind us.

We’ve gotten over 74 million votes.

Let me repeat that: 74 million votes.

That’s more votes than any presidential ticket has gotten in the history of the United States of America, and our vote total is still growing.

We’re beating Donald Trump by over 4 million votes, and that margin is still growing as well.

One of the things I’m especially proud of is how well we’ve done all across America.

We are going to be the first Democrat to win Arizona in 24 years.

We are going to be the first Democrat to win Georgia in 28 years.

And we re-built the Blue Wall in the middle of the country that crumbled just four years ago.

Pennsylvania. Michigan. Wisconsin.

The heartland of this nation.

I know watching these vote tallies on TV move slowly upward can be numbing.

But never forget: the tallies aren’t just numbers — they represent votes.

Men and women who exercised their fundamental right to have their voice heard.

And what is becoming clearer each hour is that record numbers of Americans — from all races, faiths, religions — chose change over more of the same.

They have given us a mandate for action on COVID and the economy and climate change and systemic racism.

They made it clear they want the country to come together — not pull apart.

The people spoke. More than 74 million Americans.

And they spoke loudly for our ticket.

But while we’re waiting for the final results, I want people to know we are not waiting to get to work.

Yesterday, Senator Harris and I held meetings with a group of experts on the public health and economic crises our country is facing.

The pandemic is getting significantly more worrisome all across the country.

Daily cases are skyrocketing, and it is now believed that we could see spikes as high as 200,000 cases in a single day.

The death toll is approaching 240,000 lives lost to this virus.

That’s 240,000 empty chairs at the kitchen and dinner tables across America.

We’ll never be able to measure all the pain, the loss, and the suffering so many families have experienced.

I know how it feels to lose someone you love, and I want them to know they’re not alone.

Our hearts break with you.

And I want everyone to know that on Day One, we are going to put our plan to control this virus
into action.

That can’t save any of the lives that have been lost, but it will save a lot of lives in the months ahead.

Senator Harris and I also heard yesterday about how the recovery is slowing because of the failure to get the pandemic under control.

More than 20 million people are on unemployment. Millions are worried about making rent and putting food on the table.

Our economic plan will put a focus on a path to a strong recovery.

I know tensions can be high after a tough election like we just had.

But we need to remain calm. Patient. And let the process work out as we count all the votes.

We are proving again what we have proved for 244 years in this country.

Democracy works.

Your vote will be counted.

I don’t care how hard people try to stop it. I will not let it happen.

The people will be heard and our journey to a more perfect union goes on.

In America we hold strong views and we have strong disagreements.

And that’s okay.

Strong disagreements are inevitable in a democracy, and strong disagreements are healthy.

They’re a sign of vigorous debate, of deeply held views.

But we have to remember: The purpose of our politics isn’t total, unrelenting, unending warfare.

No. The purpose of our politics, the work of the nation, isn’t to fan the flames of conflict — but to solve problems.

To guarantee justice. To give everybody a fair shot. To improve the lives of our people.

We may be opponents — but we are not enemies.

We are Americans.

No matter who you voted for, I’m certain of one thing:

The vast majority want to get the vitriol out of our politics. We’re certainly not going to agree on a lot of the issues — but we can at least agree to be civil to one another.

We must put the anger — and the demonization — behind us.

It’s time for us to come together as a nation and heal.

It won’t be easy, but we must try.

My responsibility as President will be to represent the whole nation. And I want you to know — that I will work as hard for those who voted against me as for those who voted for me.

That’s the job. It’s called a duty of care. For all Americans.

We have serious problems to deal with — from COVID to our economy to racial justice to the climate.

We don’t have any more time to waste on partisan warfare.

And more than that.

We have such an incredible opportunity to build the future we want for our kids and grandkids.

I’ve said it many times. I’ve never been more optimistic about the future of our nation.

There is no reason we can’t own the 21st Century.

We just need to remember who we are.

This is the United States of America.

And there has never been anything we’ve been unable to do when we’ve done it together.

Thank you.

God bless you. And may God protect our troops.

TRUMP ESCALATES FASCIST COUP

MILLIONS IN THE STREETS MUST STOP HIM NOW

PROTEST TODAY - COUNT EVERY VOTE

TRUMP/PENCE OUT NOW

Protest Locations, Schedules Nationwide
Last night, Trump went before the world and made clear he's out to steal the election and stage a fascist coup. RefuseFascism.org is calling on everyone to meet this unprecedented, screaming emergency with massive, non-violent protests in every city and town that continue until the Trump/Pence regime is gone.

Speaking from the White House, Trump launched an all-out assault on the legitimacy of the election, claiming "If you count the legal votes, I easily win," that the votes being counted now are "illegal," and that the Democrats were trying to "steal the election from us."

Every one of these words is a lie. They are part of a deliberate fascist strategy to prevent votes from being counted, tie up the election in courts they've stacked, then throw it to the Supreme Court or state legislatures, all the while creating confusion, delay, and chaos... then overturn the results and retain power - with catastrophic consequences for all humanity.

Trump's campaign has launched legal attacks in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and elsewhere. They're trying to oversee - i.e., derail - the vote count. Trump MAGA goons have staged rallies threatening poll workers in Philadelphia, Detroit, Phoenix - where they were armed - and elsewhere. Election officials say they fear for their lives. Trump, Jr. is calling for "total war," Steve Bannon for beheading Anthony Fauci and FBI head Wray.

We Need Massive, Sustained, Nonviolent Action NOW, Demanding Trump/Pence Out Now!

Now is NOT the time to wait and let the fascists take the offensive. We have right on our side! We need to come to the public square NOW, staying and growing every day and night, in massive demonstrations that are nonviolent, sustained, and refuse to back down till this regime is gone. The vote shows we have millions on our side - let's mobilize them to stop Trump's rolling, election-stealing coup, and oust him and his cabal from power!

White supremacy is illegitimate. Patriarchal theocracy is illegitimate. FASCISM IS ILLEGITIMATE.

Dear Partners,

As of this morning there are 70 events on the map for the Voters Decided actions tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 7th. We are going for less events, with big turnout – all daytime.

There are great events happening today as well, including the virtual Voters Decide virtual rally here: Register for the #VotersDecide Virtual Rally, Fri. Nov. 6th - 8-9 PM ET. Graphics to promote for tonight are attached.

Congrats to the many Fight Back Table partners and local groups who are part of this coalition putting together those exciting events!

Hope folks who are able will show up and join in the Voters Decided celebrations. The Voters Decided events will celebrate our communities claiming victory. These celebrations are not just about claiming a win for Biden but for our communities that have fought for the last four years and will continue fighting.

We will remain vigilant and ready to activate the broader Protect The Results network.
Please share your action successes, press and social media hits from the actions this week on the list.

Landscape assessment:
  • Biden is presumptive winner, networks and campaign have yet to declare him the winner but we presume this will happen any moment today
  • We continue to believe it’s critical to project strength and inevitability of a Biden win
  • We anticipate Trump and his supporters will push back, be upset by the news, and may mobilize. We will remain watchful of their reactions
  • Threats to overthrow the will of voters in PA through legislative action: Right now, these don’t seem to be credible nor a will by the GOP in the state legislature to follow through. Tweet from PA Sen. Majority Leader

Today, November 6th at 3:00 PM ET, election experts from the National Task Force on Election Crises will hold a press briefing:

What’s Next: The Electoral College and What Happens After the Ballots Are Counted    https://gpg.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_x2yoOPz4TSSmqwbT67MyAQ
One quick map update: Many host event dates for rapid response are now set for December 1st as a default.
