Governor Bullock Rolls Out Innovative Corporate Tax Plan to Create Jobs, Drive Investment in American Workers

Plan Lowers Taxes for Businesses That Hire Americans

Helena, MT – Montana Governor Steve Bullock today rolled out his innovative plan to drive investment in American workers and jobs. When 60 Fortune 500 companies paid zero in federal income tax last year, it’s clear that we need to fix our tax code and ensure that wealthy corporations are paying their fair share. That’s why, as President, Governor Bullock will reverse Trump’s disastrous tax cuts and reward businesses that invest in American jobs.

Under his proposal, corporate taxes would depend on a corporation’s level of investment in American workers. The proposal is an innovative way to address the problems of globalization head on — driving investment in American jobs and raising needed revenue to fund advancements in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and more.

“We should be supporting American jobs, not shipping them overseas. In an increasingly global economy, we must pursue new ways to drive investment in American workers — that means more than returning to business as usual,” said Montana Governor Steve Bullock. “My plan discourages outsourcing and rewards businesses that invest in creating jobs here at home, ensuring that all Americans reap the benefits of a growing economy — not just a wealthy few.”
