Julián for the Future

"Ya basta (A message to Donald Trump)" >

.30 TV ad run on FOX News Channel's "Fox and Friends" in Bedminister, NJ.

Castro:  President Trump:

You referred to countries as shitholes.

You urged American Congresswomen to ‘go back to where they came from.’

You called immigrants rapists.

As we saw in El Paso, Americans were killed because you stoked the fire of racists.

Innocent people were shot down because they look different from you.

Because they look like me. They look like my family.

Words have consequences. ¡Ya Basta!

I’m Julián Castro, and I approve this message.

Julián Castro Places New Ad Buy Responding to Trump Insults

SAN ANTONIO, TX (May 13, 2019) – On Tuesday, May 13, the presidential campaign of former Obama Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Mayor of San Antonio, Julián Castro, announced that he will appear in a new ad on Wednesday highlighting President Trump’s dangerous and hateful rhetoric and responding to President Donald Trump’s recent attacks on him and his brother Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX).

The new video ad buy, which will appear during programming on FOX News Channel in Bedminster, New Jersey on Wednesday, August 14, speaks directly to Donald Trump, highlighting how his actions have contributed to the rise in racist rhetoric and violence like we saw in El Paso last week.

Speaking from an empty warehouse in Iowa, Secretary Julián Castro connects the recent act of domestic terrorism in El Paso to President Trump’s actions as President:

“President Trump: You referred to countries as shitholes. You urged American Congresswomen to ‘go back to where they came from.’ You called immigrants rapists."

"As we saw in El Paso, Americans were killed because you stoked the fire of racists. Innocent people were shot down because they look different from you. Because they look like me. They look like my family. Words have consequences. ¡Ya Basta! I’m Julián Castro, and I approve this message.”

"Donald Trump's hateful rhetoric inspired the largest violent attack on the Latinx community in history," said campaign manager Maya Rupert. "Yet, even in the wake of this attack his campaign continues to use words like 'invasion' to describe immigrants, and attacks two of the most prominent Latino politicians. Julián isn't afraid of Donald Trump or his bigoted agenda, and will continue to expose his racism and division until he defeats him next November."
