Male Announcer:  A message from Indiana Democrat Pete Buttigieg...

Buttigieg:  If you listen to President Trump, you’d think the only thing that matters for our economy is whether the stock market had a good day or a bad day.

That’s his priority.

When the President gets on Twitter to brag about the high-stakes game he’s playing with China, he’s not seeing the same rural America that I see.

The one where net farm income has been cut almost in half these past five years.

Where small town residents live hours away from a decent hospital.

Where household budgets are stretched so thin that desperation often turns to depression and addiction.

This reckless trade war is tearing apart the very fabric of rural America.

And while subsidies might soften the blows temporarily, they can’t repair the permanent damage being done to family farms.

I’m Pete Buttigieg, candidate for President, and I approve this message to ask for your help in stopping what Donald Trump is doing to America’s Heartland...for your community, and mine.

Buttigieg:  Hello Iowa!

This is Pete Buttigieg – mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and Democratic candidate for President.

This month, I released my plan for lifting up rural America – the small towns and farming communities that surround places like my hometown in South Bend but that never seem to get much attention from the folks in Washington.

As a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, I saw firsthand the sacrifice made by those in uniform...and I noticed how many of them came from places that look a lot more like South Bend than the big coastal cities.

It’s one reason that the Buttigieg Plan will expand opportunities for veterans -- providing those who’ve served with two weeks of training on what it takes to start a small business...followed by a ten thousand dollar grant to help transform a good idea into a successful company.

There’s a lot more in my plan – which I hope you’ll check out at peteforamerica.com.

Thanks for listening – and see you on the trail.

I’m Pete Buttigieg, candidate for President, and I approve this message.

RADIO ADS: Pete For America Up With Two New Ads in Rural Iowa

DES MOINES, IA -- Pete for America launched two radio ads,“Fabric,” and “The Trail,” that will air on rural radio networks in communities across Iowa. This marks the campaign’s first radio ad buy of the cycle.

This ad buy comes on the heels of Pete introducing an ambitious new plan to significantly grow and empower rural communities to lead the way in addressing America’s most urgent challenges. Pete rolled out this plan during a two-day trip across southeast Iowa with six town halls in counties that flipped from supporting Obama twice to supporting Trump in 2016.

The radio ads will ensure that Iowans hear about how Pete’s plan would help veterans living in rural communities, as well as addressing how harmful Trump’s trade war has been to Iowans. Pete returns to Iowa on Wednesday for his seventh trip to the Hawkeye State in as many weeks. Listen to “Fabric,” and “The Trail,” ...
