The Second American Revolution Volume 1, Issue 7 July 6, 1992
The People Welcome Perot...
On June 24, Ross Perot greeted thousands of us crowded onto Annapolis' City Dock. State Director Joan Vinson introduced Perot from a perch aboard the Annapolitan. To her regret, her voice gave out during her brief introduction, and what follows is what she wanted to say for the People of Maryland:
We the People of Maryland accepted the challenge made to us by Ross Perot -- to become actively involved, personally and energetically in the great drama of our time, the Second American Revolution. Like our Founding Fathers who were the Spirit of '76, we are the Spirit of '92. The Sleeping Giant, We the People, hove awakened. We the People are silent no more, and the power brokers are still in shock. They didn't think we cared, they didn't think we'd react, they didn't think we could organize mobilize, prioritize. THEY DIDN'T THINK.
Without the help of any political professionals, We the People formed our Citizens' Army and put Ross Perot in front of us as our leader. He is speaking our mind. We are the body. Like Jefferson, we know the PEOPLE are the most important part of government. Together, we will win, against all odds: We the People and Ross Perot will prevail.
John Adams said that the real American Revolution was in the minds of the people, and this was effected 15 years before Lexington and the shot heard round the world.
The cause of America is the cause, in great measure, of all mankind. Ross Perot is a man who represents what America is all about. He is an uncommon leader who possesses the principles, the moral compass, the common sense and the ability to make decisions; he is a self-made man who embodies the American dream, a man who is beyond the pale of corruption that haunts America. He is a man who can return the American dream to reality.
Ross Perot, who honed his leadership skills here at the United States Naval Academy, Ross Perot, who will be the next President of the United States of America: Welcome bock to Annapolis. We love you.

News Clips:
"Perot on the Issues"
From Washington Post, July 1, 1992 that excerpts a lengthy June 29 interview on ABC/TV with Peter Jennings:
• Taxes:
Let's assume that we're just unable to pay our bills, unable to meet our obligations, we hove to raise our taxes. That's it. We hove to pay our bills as a country.
• Abortion:
I feel very strong about individual responsibility, feel very strongly about the importance and preciousness of human life, feel very strongly that as thinking, reasoning human beings, we shouldn't create a life we don't want. But having said all that, the bottom line is, it's the woman's choice.
• Religion in public schools:
I would like to hove a clear green light to teach character in the public schools ... call it ethics ... l think if we get into denominational religion in the public schools, we will hit a quagmire that will toke us 10 years to get out the other side.
"Washington Wire"
From The Wall Street Journal July 3, 1992.
Co-campaign manager Hamilton Jordan confirms the campaign wants to include women on its short list, but says no such list exists yet. To combat Perot's snoop image, his campaign plans TV spots as early as next week showing him as a lifelong patriot and entrepreneurial man of action.
Issues chief John White says the economy's continuing woes will help Perot "underline what he's saying" about the need for more aggressive federal intervention.
