U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA)
worked as an immigration lawyer and taught immigration law before
coming to Congress.

U.S. Rep. Ruben Kihuen (D-NV)'s
family came to the United States from Guadalajara, Mexico when he was a
child. He noted he just came back from a visit to the border the
day before. "America's better than putting children in cages," he
said.

U.S. Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY),
chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, recalled a "Macy's moment" he
experienced as a kid when he became separated from his mother in the
department store. He described the policy as "psychological
torture."

U.S. Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA),
vice chair of the House Democratic Caucus, said the situation "could
end today with one phone call from the President to the Attorney
General."
