Senator Angus King
Independent. Hardworking. Effective.

Honoring veterans of all ages
Senator King has made serving Maine's veterans a top priority by working to reduce wait times for VA benefits, protecting the ARCH program under which veterans in rural Maine receive specialty health care services closer to home, and making it
easier for vets to start businesses.

Fighting the opiod epidemic
Understanding that the opioid epidemic is a public health crisis, Senator King pressured the DEA to crack down on big pharmaceutical companies, and he supported a new law expanding funding for treatment and prevention programs.

Protecting affordable health care for seniors and families

King has worked to lower prescription drug prices, expand access to affordable health care in rural Maine, stop insurance companies from punishing Mainers with pre-existing conditions, and protect Social Security and Medicare.

Fighting for Maine jobs
Working with Senator Susan Collins, Senator King helped secure billions of dollars in funding for Navy ships to be built at Bath Iron Works, creating and protecting thousands of good-paying Maine jobs.
