Pass the NY Health Act to provide all NYers with all medically necessary services at lower cost in progressive taxes than 98% of us now pay for health care.

Homes For AII
Stop displacement by gentrification. Statewide rent controls. Build high-quálity public housing — human-scaled, scatter-site, and mixed-income to meet the need for affordable housing.

Good Public Schools
Full and equitable funding of all public schools. End high-stakes testing. Stop charter school privatization. Desegregate public schools by race and class. Tuition-free SUNY and CUNY.

Sanctuary State
Stop Deportations. Prohibit cooperation with ICE or CBP. Driver's licenses for undocumented immigrants. Pass the NY DREAM Act. Pass the Farmworkers Fair Labor Practices Act.

Clean Government
Full public campaign funding. Ranked choice voting. Term limits. Full-time legislators with limits on outside income. Glose the LLC loophole. lndependent ethics oversight. Reopen the Moreland Commission on Public Corruption.
 
Progressive Taxes
Raise taxes on unearned income: millionaires tax, stock transfer tax, land value tax. Cut taxes on the earned income of low- and middle-income working people.

Howie Hawkins, a socialist Teamster, and Jia Lee, a Teacher, are an independent labor ticket fighting for public schools, guaranteed health care, 100% clean energy, clean government, affordable housing and transportation, and living-wage jobs or income for all — A Green New Deal.

In 2014, Hawkins and another teacher, Brian Janes, received 5% of the vote, forcing Gov. Andrew Guamo to compete for progressive votes by adopting reforms the Greens demanded, including a ban on fracking, $15 minimum wage (eventually), paid family leave, and tuition-free public college (for sorne).
