JARED LORD
GOVERNOR

Join me in building a greater future for Nevada by driving out special interests and putting the people of Nevada first.

JARED LORD

As governor, I will fight to restare individual freedoms, eliminate irresponsible spending, reduce taxes, and create a robust economy where we can all thrive. My vision is for a Nevada with a fully transparent government, where the people have the power, and not the special interests. I want to see a state where we can use common sense and good old-fashioned teamwork to create our best future yet.

I am just like you, I don't have the money to take months off from work to campaign. My job keeps me fcd and sheltered, but I could be doing better. I was inspired to run for office in order to offer a positive alternative to the current negative political climate. What would happen if we stand up to the politicians and special interests? Let's find out together. Join me.

JARED LORD ON THE ISSUES

One of the biggest issues facing Nevada right now is the rampant cronyism wasting our tax dollars, increasing the cost of living, and decreasing the quality of state services. I am dedicated to freeing the taxpayers from the burden of corporate welfare. Your money should remain in your pocket, not in the pocket of the politically connected.

EDUCATION:
After having attended school district meetings, I am convinced the problems are not with the students or teachers, but with the administration. In order to get education spending to the classroom, we do need to free up wasted money. I propose eliminating all unnecessary administrative positions so education money makes it to the classrooms, where it belongs.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE:
The first major criminal justice reform I propose is to treat addiction as a health issue, not a criminal one. The drug war has been a failure, and the people who fall victim to addiction should have access to proper treatment, not imprisonment. In Portugal, this approach to addiction has led to lower rates of violent crime and addiction, as well as less new AIDS cases.

JOBS:
I have predominately worked in the hourly wage end of the economy, so this is a very serious issue to me. Consumers pay the cost of regulations that stifle innovation and competition, and those at the bottom of the wage scale get hurt the most. I support eliminating barriers to meaningful employment, including protectionism and unreasonable occupational licensure.

INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS:
Rights should not be doled out on the basis of race, religion, sexual preference, gender, or political party. AII rights are individual rights, and should apply to every single person. I will continue to fight for the rights of every individual, as these rights are fundamental to our republic.

MARIJUANA:
I have been a supporter of legalization for decades, and will protect the industry in Nevada from overzealous Federal prosecutors and unnecessary regulations in-state. Every citizen with a non-violent marijuana offense on their record deserve a clean record now that it is legal, therefore each will be fully pardoned.

TAXATION:
There is no such thing as state money, it is really taxpayer money. The government is responsible to use that money efficiently and cost-effectively so the people are taxed as minimally as possible. Wasteful spending will be eliminated, and the savings will be split between the rainy day fund and the people through tax cuts.

The Libertarian Party is the fastest growing political party in the United States, but do you know what we stand for? Simply stated, we believe that everyone has the right to live how they see fit, providing they do not harm others in the process. Additionally, we insist that this code of ethics needs to be adopted by the government. We envision a country where all people have equal opportunities, regardless of their beliefs, customs, preferences, or skin color. With so much legislation and regulation designed to help special interests at the expense of individual freedom to succeed, we recognize that we need to reverse this trend for the good of all people. We want to clear the way for every single person to achieve the American Dream. The rest is up to you.
