Secretary of State
Notes: Sen. Jerry Moran (R), seeking a second term, defeated Patrick Wiesner (D), an attorney and CPA from Lawrence, and Robert D. Garrard (L), an electronics technician from Edgerton, in a very lopsided race. According to the FEC for 2015-16 the Moran campaign reported disbursements of $4.7 million compared to $38,286 for the Wiesner campaign (+). (Wiesner had also run for U.S. Senate two years earlier, finishing second in the Democratic primary). See also: Justin Wingerter. "Indecision, Sen. Jerry Moran's albatross, hangs over him in 2016."
