+    Halted the nomination of Commissioner nominee until the FDA agreed to help with mandatory labeling
+    Opposed GMO labeling bill that would have prevented labeling for Frankenfish
+    Authored the Genetically Engineered Salmon Labeling Act with Sen. Sullivan to mandate labeling of GMO salmon

PROTECTING OUR FISHERIES
+    Prioritizing trans-boundary salmon and mining issues
+    Fought pirate fishing through passage of the Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing Act
+    Directed the FDA to develop labeling guidelines to inform consumers whether or not the salmon for sale is genetically engineered.
+    Advocated for transparent and open dialogue between U.S. Navy and fishermen of the Gulf and Prince William Sound Region
+    Included a provision that allows only pollock caught in Alaskan waters and U.S. waters out to 200 nautical miles to be marketed as "Alaska Pollock"
