CPAC 2022: Around and About — Candidates (alpha by state)        ...3 of 5 >
Candidates worked media row to line up interviews.  This is relatively early in the election cycle—  the first primaries have yet to be held.  Also not all states have finalized their redistricting plans, and filing is ongoing in some states.
In Alabama, Lindy Blanchard, a former U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia, is one of several Republicans challenging Gov. Kay Ivey (R).
Former TV anchor Kari Lake, a leading candidate for Governor of Arizona, where Gov. Doug Ducey (R) is term-limited.  Former President Donald Trump endorsed Lake on Sept. 28, 2021: "Kari Lake is running for Governor in the Great State of Arizona. She is a fantastic person who spent many years working as a highly respected television anchor and journalist. Because of this, few can take on the Fake News Media like Kari. She is strong on Crime, will protect our Border, Second Amendment, Military, and Vets, and will fight to restore Election Integrity (both past and future!). She is against Covid lockdowns, Cancel Culture, and will end “woke” curriculum in our schools. She will do a far better job than RINO Governor Doug Ducey—won’t even be a contest! Kari will make her wonderful family, and the MAGA movement, very proud. Kari Lake has my Complete and Total Endorsement. She will be a great Governor for the incredible people of Arizona!"  Lake spoke at Trump's Jan. 15 rally in Florence, and had a prime speaking spot on Saturday leading up to Trump's speech.
Josh Barnett, running for Congress in AZ-1 against U.S. Rep. Dave Schweikert (R), is described on politics1.com as "gym chain owner, QAnon conspiracy theorist and '20 nominee."  In the photo above, he was engaged in a sharp face-to-face argument with David Clements (holding the phone).
Conrad Renynolds is running for Congress in AR-2, challenging U.S. Rep. French Hill (R) in the primary.
Chris Bish is running for Congress in CA-6, the seat held by U.S. Rep. Ami Bera (D).  She also ran in 2020.  Bish was one of the hardest working candidates at CPAC.
In Connecticut, John Flynn is one of several Republicans running in the Aug. 9 primary to challenge U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D).
Julianne Murray is running for Attorney General of Delaware.  She was the Republican nominee for Governor in 2020.
Also from Delaware, Lee Murphy is one of two Republicans running to challenge U.S. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D).
Calvin Wimbish, a retired Army colonel, is running for Congress in FL-10.  The seat is open as U.S. Rep. Val Demings (D) is running for U.S. Senate.
Jill Sessions, director of solid waste for the City of Plant City, is running for Polk County School Board District 7.
Suzi Voyles ("a constitutional conservative leader we can trust") is one of nine Republicans running for Congress in GA-6.  The seat is open as U.S. Rep. Lucy McBath (D) is running in the new GA-7.

Adam Kinzinger (R) in IL-16 in the Republican primary in 2018 (32.1%), and in the Republican primary in IL-14 in 2020, finishing fifth (11.0%).
