Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) Makes Her First Exploratory Trip to Iowa  ... 1 of 4 >
Jan. 5, 2019 - Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) concluded the first day of a two-day trip to Iowa with an organizing event at Curate in Des Moines.  The line of people waiting to get in extended far down the block and some people ended up in an overflow room, although Warren spoke with them before the event.  Warren delivered a clear message that she will stand up and fight for working people, calling for "big, structural change."  "Washington works for the rich and the powerful and leaves everyone else behind. This is corruption, plain and simple, and we need to call it out," she declared [partial transcript].  Warren announced her exploratory committee [video] less than a week ago on Dec. 31, and is seen  one of the stronger prospects in what is expected to be a very large field of Democratic candidates.  The Iowa precinct caucuses are scheduled to take place more than a year from now on Feb. 3, 2020.
