WASHINGTON — C-SPAN and Mediacom are excited to announce the debut of the new C-SPAN Campaign 2020 Bus during a 13-day tour of Iowa. The C-SPAN-Mediacom tour will consist of public events in several Iowa cities, kicking off with University of Iowa, Grinnell College, Drake University and Iowa State University.
Visitors in Iowa are invited to step aboard the Bus to learn about C-SPAN’s Campaign 2020 coverage through a brand-new app, which allows visitors to explore presidential candidates, events and footage from the campaign trail. Through interactive kiosks and demonstrations aboard the Bus, visitors will learn about C-SPAN's unfiltered view of the American political process, Campaign 2020 programming and comprehensive online educational resources, including C-SPAN.org. The website includes an extensive video library containing over 256,000 hours of searchable content for viewing, research and education purposes.
Following the debut in Iowa, C-SPAN’s Campaign 2020 Bus will travel to New Hampshire, Nevada and throughout the country to continue to promote and enhance C-SPAN’s extensive political coverage and resources. The tour will include stopping at major political events and meeting with local political leaders, journalists and voters on the campaign trail. Bus visitors will also be invited to share their thoughts on issues they want presidential candidates to address during the campaign as part of the "Voices from the Road" project.
“Iowans have a key responsibility in selecting presidential nominees, and C-SPAN plays a role with campaign coverage from Iowa and elsewhere, and by offering a wealth of public affairs resources available in more ways than ever before. Mediacom’s goal in bringing the C-SPAN Bus to Iowa is to connect people with this tremendous service created by cable that makes our government transparent,” said Ed Pardini, Mediacom’s Senior Vice President.
