Website relaunch and launch of Pledge for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Campaign

By 2040, the U.S, will be a minority-majority country. Yet, in 2018, 93% of the people running the federal government were White, and 80% of them were men. To address this vast lack of underrepresentation, Inclusive America is also launching a bipartisan campaign for current and future political candidates to sign a Pledge for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, putting on record their promise to make inclusion a priority at every level of their office. This bipartisan pledge holds political candidates accountable as they seek public office and will ensure diversity in government where policymakers can generate a more inclusive set of policies to benefit all Americans.

We’re thrilled to announce today that Inclusive America has received support from nearly 70 bipartisan national leaders and organizations in our mission to achieve greater diversity in the federal government.  This includes forging partnerships with more than  45 organizations from varying political affiliations whose works span from national security and domestic policy to leadership development and advocacy.  It also includes endorsements from over 20 former Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, Chiefs of Staff, National Security Advisors, Directors of the Domestic Policy Council, and former Congressional members.
Inclusive America is also relaunching its own website.

Inclusive America’s mission of ensuring the U.S. government is as diverse as the people it represents has three tracks: 

• Education: Tracking demographic information of all appointed political positions. We will provide the analysis to government hiring managers/recruiters, the media, partner organizations, and interested individuals. It will also serve as a baseline and tool to measure progress.
• Elevation​: Partnering with individuals, organizations, and associations to develop slates of qualified underrepresented people for every relevant position so we can provide a positive alternative to the status-quo.
• Advocacy: Supporting policies that increase diversity, equity and inclusion in the public sector.
